In connection with routine legal matters, we ordinarily bill for our services on a straightforward time and disbursement basis, with the hourly rate determined by the level of experience and seniority of the lawyer involved. However, we are dedicated to working with our clients to develop alternate arrangements to meet their particular needs, for example by doing specific legal work on an agreed lump-sum basis. In other situations, we have also set up retainer agreements whereby we provide a guaranteed number of hours of service over a specified period of time for an agreed fixed fee. Such fee is calculated on a discounted basis and is payable in monthly, semi-annual or quarterly installments. This allows our clients the flexibility and freedom to use our services whenever needed, yet still maintain close control over the costs involved. An additional benefit of such a retainer agreement is that we are retained on a permanent basis as consulting attorneys and thus cannot be retained by any party in a position legally adverse to our clients' interests. We are thus able to commit ourselves to protecting our clients' interests on a full-time basis.
